above average NM pay...
Is it? They're asking for 'allot' of knowledge there and placing allot of responsibility on that person, I personally think that it's a bit on the low side. No doubt in the current climate they will get plenty of responses but that doesn't mean that it's not low.Quote:

NM pay should be 33k+
I agree you wouldn't see an ad asking for that amount of knowledge and experience inc managing other staff for less than £30k in the private sector (well you might but...). Single status and BSF however will endevor to change that but it still shouldn't be less that SO2 which is £27k ->Quote:

They're wanting a University degree or HND in field of computer science aswell
Uni degree and HND! - You dont need any of that too be an IT Manager in a company or school at all.
I personally think pay for IT Staff in schools should be standardized like below:
Junior IT Technician : 15k - 20k
IT Technician : 20k - 25k
Senior IT Technician : 25k - 30k
IT\Network Manager : 30k - 40k
At the moment people have to remember due to the recession there's going to be a lot of good IT workers out there who are desperate for jobs (who have lost there job) and I bet some schools are trying too attract some of them at a lower pay because these people NEED a job.

Yep same old. It's a false economy as when the sector picks up those people will leave again.
I know, I know.
