@HillSkill - If you have no constructive advice for Axe, then please don't post in this thread.
Insulting those that are trying to help is neither helpful nor welcome.

To be honest guys I felt this thread was getting little flat recently and wanted to stir things up a bit as result.
Seems like I have certainly succeeded in that!
Anyway truth I wish Axe all the best etc etc and am praying to the allmighty that he finds a job soon- so this thread at least can finally be put to bed!
:-)
A few facts...
1 - lots of people are struggling to get jobs at the moment, including those with conditions that are often seen as ill-fitting with certain jobs (don't get me started on discriminatory practices)
2 - jobs *have* to go through due process and have to be awarded to the person most suitable to do the job.
3 - Should a job come up and Axe applies for it, then the best that can happen is that he is treated fairly in comparison to the other interviewees.
4 - *NO* job should just be given to anyone but they feel sorry for them.
5 - AXE is not being asked to be *given* a job, but is trying to gain one through the merits of his extensive CV and his abilities ... through being given a fair chance too.
I know AXE went of one job in Northants where *no-one* was appointed due to internal management changes at the school. It has been re-advertised and I hope he has re-applied as I would like to catch up with him too ... but I cannot magic a job out of thin air.
agreed jobs dont appear out of thin air etc
but one thing I dont get is how AXE hasn't been accepted to do voluntary work anywhere? he has stated several times on this thread that he has offered his free services but no one was interested.
I myself know we would never turn "free" help away and I know several places that feel the same.
All I am saying is there must be a fundlemental reason for this and unless Axe gets to the bottem of this no amount of changing his CV, re-writing his cover letter will help.
BTW I want to help him as much as you guys just feel there must be more to this
I had a good rep before today! LOL
I am not the first person to question the situation on this thread and sure I won't be the last.
Nice to hear you say that although it is an odd way to go about it.
Do you know anyone who suffers with asbergers allied with low self esteem, depression and everything else?
* questioning is fine - it is insulting AXE and accusing the rest of us that is very much NOT fine
I don't agree with some/most of the things hillskill said, and certinaly not the initial tone, but...
I think the quesiton about voluntary work is entirely valid.
I find it hard to believe that voluntary work has been sought yet no one is willing to take Axe on. (If this is the case there is something fundamentally wrong and Axe should be encouraged to look elsewhere - outside of IT)
Thanks- nice to hear not everyone hates me :-)
I just wanted to raise a few points thats all- it just seems this thread is getting a bit Ridiculous and needs to be sorted.
I really hope Axe does find a job soon but he's not gonna get one by suger coating the issues with promisies like- I'll look at your CV etc. Obvoisuly his CV and appliaction process is not the problem- there has to be something more fundlemental.
Librarian- sorry but you are wrong.
I think you find school, especailly during the holidays, when no CRB checks are required etc will snap the hand off anyone who wants to help for "FREE".
Especially during the current economic climete schools need to save costs where they can.
What about insurance if that person gets injured though, they won't be covered and the papers will have a field day!
D
Agreed. This thread doesn't exist for your amusement hillskill, it's to try and get a skilled member of Edugeek who has fallen on bad times back to work. After reading through this thread, that's exactly what people on here have been doing, offering real help. If you don't have any real help to offer, please stop criticising the people who are.
@Hillskill - I've read your post and considered your opinion, thank you. I have no further comment though.
