This is an exciting time to join Vermuyden School and this post is seen as a crucial role, working closely with the Director of ICT to ensure our school is a centre of excellence in the region for ICT.
Required as soon as possible to manage a team of one senior technician and three technicians maintaining and updating the curriculum and administrative networks across the school on two sites, ensuring that their use is maximised and that effective learning can take place.
The team also offers support to local charities. As a Maths and Computing Specialist School, ICT is used heavily across the school. Currently we have over 400 desktop PCs and 250 laptops available to staff and students and the school runs a Windows Server 2003 network with Windows XP. The server farm is largely virtualised using VMware on an IBM Blade Centre which was installed Summer 2008.
The school is in the middle of major rebuilding work, Phase 1 is complete and Phase 2 is due to be complete September 2010.
Vermuyden School is a vibrant, mixed 11-18 comprehensive school in the small town of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire which, at its recent Ofsted inspection was judged to be "a good and rapidly improving school with the ambition and capacity to become outstanding".
