PS looks like pretty standard fare......they should get a lot of applications, and the salary is quite reasonable.
I just wish employers would stop 'preferring' an MCSE. Maybe i'm bitter 'cos i haven't got the certs....but in my experience the MCSE isn't a reliable judge of the ability of a candidate.
When I was on the government's Ambition IT programme (you had to be unemployed) around 5/6 years ago, there were a couple of lads who had MCSE's, but were unemployed because they had little or no practical experience of working with computers or people. They had simply done the exams from the book.
I would say,
MCSE + Experience, very good
Experience, good
MCSE, no experience, start at the bottom and work your way up.
You have to remember this is West London where house prices and the cost of living is rather silly - [ tell me were isn't !! ] I am not an Asst manager but I'm on a lot more than that. Still it's a good oppertunity for someone who wants to lose their technical knowledge and become a manager... ;-)Quote:

Lmao.. trust u to come out with somthing like that :p
Im assit Network Manager on £5k less with 400 more pupils then that school and alot more kit.
I'm happy with that though as im also training to become network manager. In good time hehe... i'll work my way up for it so :)
I am the network manager at Ruislip High and was not aware that the advertisement for my assistant was going to have "preferred MCSE" in the profile. I will deal with that issue.
I do not have a preference for any qualification but would be happy to support my assistant in gaining qualifications if that person wished to do so.
Any other questions, I would be glad to answer them.
I wonder who posted this job here. :):)
