Technician Vacancy for Tech Support Provider

hi-impact is made up of a team of technicians and a team of curriculum consultants.
Whilst our Curriculum Consultants work with our partner schools throughout the academic year to provide pupil workshops, staff training and school development, our technicians support these schools with weekly tech support visits.
Some schools have 0.5 days a week where others have up to 2 days per week. As well as offering the usual tech support, hi-impact technicians support the curriculum work that is being developed by the curriculum consultants so often find themselves making podcasts with groups of children, greenscreen filming, video conferencing, managing the use of iPads/iPods, supporting teachers in the classroom etc.
Technicians are encouraged to develop their own projects with their schools. One of our guys recently worked with his school to send HD film cameras into near space (yep - just like Felix) and has even been nominated for a National Award at a gala dinner in London next week for this project. Non contact time is given to all technicians to encourage them to research new opportunities for our company.
We have our own network that we implement into our schools but we are also an RM AST so can look after RM schools that come on board with us too.
We fit Ruckus wireless systems into schools.
We maintain all AV across our schools.
We build and manage both curriculum and admin networks.
We have an online tech ticketing system for excellent communication between teachers and technicians.
We offer technical support to schools in Wirral, Liverpool, Stockport, Crewe and Halton but also have curriculum SLAs with schools all over the country from Wimbledon to Durham and Rutland to Preston.
We have more schools knocking on our door than we can cope with come January 2013 and then again in April 2013.

• ICT Support Technician in Schools
• Initially working alongside a senior technician and office support staff.
• Troubleshooting technical problems within contracted schools through regular visits.
• In schools, technician will come into contact with teachers and pupils.
• Occasionally offering support during a curriculum workshop, working alongside teachers & curriculum consultants.
An awareness of and commitment to attain MSCE qualification if not achieved already.
An understanding of network systems, ideally in an education environment.
Basic repair, maintenance and upgrade of computers and peripherals.
Familiarity with basic IT packages and operating systems (XP, Office etc.)
Experience of server OS including Active Directory (advantageous but not essential).
Own transport and willingness to travel around around North West
CRB will be required (costs covered)
After the training period alongside a senior technician, it is envisaged that the candidate will be able to support schools individually. As new contracts are established, the candidate will take responsibility for specific clients.
Monday - Thursday / Friday TBC
8.30am - 5.00pm
£12,000 - £18,000 depending on experience
