As a Hosted services system engineer your responsibilities will be: Developing and maintaining two of Primary Technology®'s growing hosted web services.
School Email which is a hosted Exchange 2010 Service that is used by schools all over the UK, the service has been running for five years now and has migrated from Exchange 2003 to 2007 and then to 2010 this year.
School Backups is an online remote backup solution for schools based on Ahsay remote backup, with growing numbers of customers. We are hoping you will be able to take School backups to the next level.
Working alongside the existing hosted web services team at Primary Technology® and will report directly to the Hosted Web Services Manager then the Managing Director.
Attend regular meeting to plan and discuss growth of the hosted web services
Respond to service problems as they arise and maintain uptime for all services.
Supporting end users with issues and troubleshooting service issues.
Working from home most of the time, but you will be expected to attend regular meetings in our main offices based in Bradford as and when required.
Job Description: Working between 35-40 hours a week including occasional evenings, weekends (rare, but may be necessary for large scale projects), bank holidays
Manage School Email, a Hosted Exchange Email Service
Manage School Backups, a backup service based on Ahsay remote backup
Maintain Primary Technology®'s servers
Manage server backups
Liaise with schools
Support customers via phone and email
Attend occasional events throughout the UK if required
Essential Requirements: Full knowledge of Exchange Server 2010 and Active Directory
Working knowledge of PowerShell
A full UK driving license with access to their own transport
Proven good communication skills via email and phone
Willingness to take on new challenges and expand your personal skill set as you work
Ability to develop a good working relationship with wide range of supported customers/staff
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Confidence and ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize your own workloads
Desirable: Experience with multi-site hosted hardware
Previous experience running an Exchange 2010 hosted environment
Previous Linux System Admin experience
Experience with Linux software such as SpamAssasin, PostFix and ClamAV
