The document in question was a powerpoint originally then a 4 or 5 page hand out.

They were pretty much identical then but had some major, major holes. IT techs & IT officers were listed, but network managers were not. And the pay was nothing to shout about.

interesting thread (just found it, i'm new here - hi)

Glad i'm not alone. I'm in a similar boat to a few of you - If it has buttons or flashing lights, it's my fault. In charge of everything from servers to filling printers with paper, to helping people scan stuff. No-one to play with, just me running the entire show.
    Poor bastards.

The IT Support Officer was at 23k - 29k... Which is, to me, something to shout about. I'd love to be on that pay scale.

Regarding not having the title 'Network Manager' there, have you spoken to them about this being missing?

If im truthful im not worried, it was more of an observation than a concern at present. Once we actually know what were graded as, if I'm worried, I will raise it then. No point jumping to conclusions over a provisional document.

Hmmm ICT Technician is in GR3... thought it was GR2 before. Not bad if it is on GR3.

Not sure what my title is going to be yet but i guess I'll find out in due time. Im pretty much wait and see attitude but i dont think I'll have a problem. Dont think i will find out till end of march or more likely sometime in april.

The interesting thing I saw in that list is that Bursar comes in at roughly the same as IT Support Officer...

I've seen one that came out in December which put technicians on GR2.

I've just sent a long winded email to my head explaining how i feel i do more than that of a Technician and suggested my job should change to that of Network manager and after single status i should be put on the bottom of GR4 at 23k. Currently on 20,700 at the moment so its not that much of an increase.

Just have to wait and see.

Don't get too hung up on the titles, The job descriptions are much more important.
When you fill in the JD evaluation form, it is scored and matched to a payscale. You might find that you are going the job of a GR4 support officer or GR5 manager regardless of the title. Only accept the new grade if it matches what you actually do.
