ICT Support Technician

Larkmead School is looking to appoint a full time ICT Support Technician to work in our busy ICT Support team.

The main responsibility of this role for the successful applicant will be to provide 1st line support to students and staff of Larkmead School and to local primary school(s), ensuring that the ICT systems are efficiently maintained and disruption to teaching and learning is kept to a minimum.
Our ideal candidate will have an interest in ICT and experience of installation and troubleshooting of hardware, software and peripherals. Experience of working in a helpdesk environment and supporting RM CC3\CC4 and Windows Server 2008 based networks is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. A driving license is essential as the successful candidate will need to travel to our supported Primary School(s).
We seek somebody with an enthusiasm to learn and develop existing ICT skills and be an active team member, with a friendly and outgoing personality. The successful candidate should also be able to work on his/her own initiative and have the ability to communicate at all levels both written and verbally. Applicants should be highly organised with a strong attention to detail and be prepared to respond to very occasional out of hours requirements of the work.
The networks we support are based on RM CC3\CC4 and Windows Server 2008 consisting of approximately 2000 users with 500 stations, laptops and minibooks. We support a number of dedicated ICT suites with all additional classrooms having networked PCs running MS Office 2003/07/10 and MS Outlook via MS Exchange.
