ICT Field Based Technicians Required
Special Agent your forum sponsor is currently inundated with temporary roles, on a contract basis, in Local Authority support teams around the Home Counties, Surrey, Bucks, Herts, Milton Keynes etc.
If you fancy joinging us a contractor, are CRB cleared already, have your own car, fancy life on the road earning a substantial salary, possibly twice as much as you are currnetly earning, looking after mostly primary and middle schools, often with the opportunity of going permanent once the roles have gone through evaluation or continue to work through Special Agent elsewhere then give us a call.
We constantly look for good engineers on contract and working as a ltd comnpany means you pay less tax and have the ability if you choose, to take a couple of months off to go travelling or whatever whilst still earning the same money as you did in your permanent role.
Please talk to us, WE ARE DESPERATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :?

Seems some interesting posts, the only things I'd suggest are:
Some descriptions end halfway through a sentance and I can't see any clear way to view the whole of it.
They need to display the salary hardly any seem to do so.

How would the schools ever get anyone applying if you could see the salary?

That seems a pretty silly point.
I know the salaries aren't great compared to Industry but not giving the facts wont help get people to apply.
Look at it this way, I'm not going to ask about those jobs because it doesn't give the salary. How many others are like that?
And how many people would ask about it, be told and then go ahead if it was low anyway? They'd just go 'oh thanks, cya'.

I'm wondering if you get to work with the concrete cows in the fields of Milton Keynes

I've phoned an agency to ask what the salary of a job is in the past and they refused to tell me unless I applied.

Re: ICT Field Based Technicians Required
Sorry perhaps I should explain, Special Agent never has a problem broadcasting salaries or contract rates. We would not usually put a client name down for obvious reasons however in a similar fashion I wouldn't want anyone not applying because the rate is slightly lower than they are looking for. Often agencies can help drive the salary higher because of their intermediary nature, hence sometimes the salary isn't put up
These particular contract roles all have slightly different rates so that's why I didn't put them down and all are negotiable to some degree dependent on experience. I would imagine I would be able to pay between £100 and £150 per day dependent on experience. Quite a wide range and it would equate roughly to £22.5K to £33.7K if the contract were to run through a whole year
Basically I would not have a problem talking to anyone directly whether they have submitted CV's or not so please do give me a call.
I have always got time for an off the record chat and enjoy discussing the issues you guys face because it helps me understand the market even more

I know the salaries aren't great compared to Industry but not giving the facts wont help get people to apply.
Has anyone actually ever seen better paid jobs in industry for equivalent responsibility / institute size?
There seem to be very few comparable jobs around and the ones that are do not seem to be significantly better paid?

I have around 25 IT contractors workling in education so could easily let you speak to any of them!!
My best contractor has had 5 years work through me (although he is a sims consultant/trainer rather than a technician type)
