Salary range £30,000 - £32,000 per annum plus excellent benefits

An excellent career opportunity for a Senior Desktop Support Analyst has arisen within the University to build and deliver fully operational desktop images for the University's staff, students and specialist users. Duties include assessing the current and future desktop system requirements, developing appropriate provision to meet these requirements; install and maintain interactive learning materials and information services and maintain awareness of technology and software relevant to the use of the University's information services.

You will provide support of the university-wide wireless network. This includes assisting users of the service and working with the infrastructure team to ensure that the service is fully operational at all times. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to liaise effectively with people at all levels and to promote team values.

Applicants must have:

experience of developing and support desktop running Windows XP and Windows 7;
a sound applied and theoretical knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating and Application systems;
knowledge of Group policy and User Profiles;
the ability to troubleshoot application installations
experience of installing, configuring and managing Software distribution and patch management systems;
knowledge of Windows Terminal services and Citrix Xenapps.
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, the Senior Desktop Support Analyst is located primarily at the Kensington campus, but may be required to work at the Richmond campus. Occasional evening or early morning may be required for system maintenance; candidates should also be prepared to participate in a 1:4 rota for weekend work.
