I'd expect that to be the salary of a network technician, not a network manager. I'm on a lot more than that, and I'm part time!!!

Especially when you start talking ICT Strategy too ...
It was strange to see in the TES the other week the typical salary scales in education. They included secretaries ... Business Managers ... but no technicians of any sort; science, DT or IT.
Is this another sign that all techies will be outsourced?

How did they say it was paid, per annum or what? That could be £17,290 if working the 52 weeks of the year. It might be even less if it is term time only.
That is really poor pay for what the job is asking. I would even say insulting.

Yep ... but if you take it to full time it would only work out around £20500
Still only the very basic rate for a Network Manager and you would still be looking for someone else to make the Strategy decisions that you base your stuff around.
Strategy comes from senior leadership/management based around information from others including network managers. They are looking to do a cut price job and give some poor blighter a heap more works than they should be doing.

Totally agree. What I was trying to say is what if it's £17,290 for full time, but reduced due to it being Term Time only.
They are still having a laugh any way you look at it.

Re: ICT Strategy and Network Manager - Walsall
I was looking on Birmingham.gov website and came across to ICT Network Manager’s Job, with pay scale LGSS Band 3 Scale Point 17-25.
I was wondering if somebody could provide me a link to check the exact salary that comes under this band.
