Assistant Network Manager - Technical

Situated just 2 miles east of Reading, Reading Blue Coat School is in a delightful area adjoining the river Thames, just above Sonning Lock. The school has an outstanding track record among the best independent day schools in the South of England.

Applications are sought for an Assistant Network Manager – Technical from highly motivated individuals with proven technical experience and good interpersonal skills. Candidates will be expected to have a thorough understanding of Microsoft products and systems, with a good knowledge of network infrastructure. This role includes responsibility for managing the Audio-Visual technology within the school and therefore previous exposure to the day to day operation of such equipment is advantageous but not essential.

The school has over 180 desktop PCs and 80 laptops connected to a fixed network. During this autumn the school will be extending connectivity by deploying a wireless network to support laptop use by academic staff. The school uses services from Research Machines and Capita (SIMs) and any previous experience with their solutions would be advantageous.

You will be a team player, able to work to high standards and keen to contribute to the development of the use of ICT across the school in both academic and administration capacities. Flexibility is also required with regards to working hours as very occasional evening and Saturday morning AV support will be required.

The salary will be commensurate with the post and the experience of the successful candidate. The post is full time and subject to CRB enhanced clearance.
