The big challenge for ICT Services is to identify and implement the necessary technologies to enable business transformation across the council. Much of this will involve integration of front and back office technologies, appropriate mobile working software interfaces and middleware and implementation of new systems/approaches such as electronic document and records management.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to this key role within the ICT Services Development Team. You must have significant and successful experience of developing applications and systems, with a good knowledge of integration technologies and be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn and keep up to date with technical developments that will help us to continually improve how we work.

The responsibilities of the role include the creation and maintenance of development standards and protocols for use across the organisation. You will also be responsible for monitoring the ICT development work to ensure that quality is high and that the standards are adhered to. The role also involves working closely with other members of the team to ensure that they have the skills required to capitalise on developments in technology.

You will also have skills and experience in relation to managing people, must be responsive to change, open to new ideas and have a determination to deliver high quality, customer focused services.
