We are looking for an ICT Network Manager to support the college's computer networks. The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills; some experience of maintaining and developing an IT infrastructure, including a Learning Platform; and will also manage a small support team. Previous experience of school IT systems (Windows Servers, Exchange Server, Active Directory, DNS, Thin Clients, Virtual Servers) and project management would be advantageous but is not essential.The post is for 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Salary: £27,849-£32,800 dependant on experience. Its only 20mins away from me even in rush hour. Its the next step for me. But have only been in a school environment 6months. But hopefully my skills will show how good i am.

5 years down the line and i'd probably go for this too
went to leicester college in my younger years (ok ok im only 27 im not that old yet!)

Although i dont think i could cope with the A47 every day. happy with the 2minute drive to work in the morning!

A47 to leicester (used to do it from desford) is fine during rush hour, no problems until you get up near the holiday inn but you can avoid that by using the outer ring road.

Good point. I used to do that every morning and it was a PITA. Current work is just round the corner.
Just weighing up new challenge vs comfort and the fact I love my current job.

How will a person have excellent technical skills without previous experience?

Ho Hum job advertisements can be so reflective on a Friday...................

Not bad remuneration though for someone who does not have previous experience but is technically excellent!
