ICT Tech job description and pay

I've been given the go ahead to look at getting someone underneath me for term time.

I'm in charge of getting a draft job description in order, and also finding out the approximate salary.
Does anyone have some sample job descriptions for basic ICT tech level jobs (not just the ones on BECTA).
Also, what approx salary would I be looking at it being? It'll be term time only plus maybe 2/3 weeks in the holidays, full time 5 days a week.

Hi fella,

Best advice would be to get a feel for the salary in your local area from other schools which will help set a mark to be discussed around.

I'll sort you the old JD's I used later on, drop me a pm to remind me.

cheers for that kmount. i'll try to find out others in the area, the problem being we're a private school, so aren't exactly fixed on the salary scales as state schools are.
i'm also going to contact local IT agencies to see what salaries they recommend.
