Many thanks for those who helped off list with putting together a job description for this. The advert's going in locally this week and nationwide next. Here's the gist...
Alton Convent School is seeking to appoint a network manager, to take responsibility for the day to day management and maintenance of the school’s computer networks, to provide technical support to staff and pupils, assist with hands-on training, and contribute to decisions on the development of
ICT within the school. Applicants must be committed to prioritizing the needs of learning, teaching, administration and management over technological aspects, and seeking the best possible return on investment. Some experience with SIMS and/or Open Source applications and approaches would be additional recommendations, as would recent experience of the education sector. For candidates with vision and creativity this post offers considerable scope to explore innovative ways of delivering cutting-edge provision for
ICT.
Pay is "according to qualifications and experience", but we're looking at 20K+.
I have further details if anyone wants to get in touch directly.
