A Little Advice
I may have another interview this week or next week and if it's bad news at the end, I'm gonna follow my mind.
I'm on the edge of starting my very own business. I'll start out for 2+ months then register as Sole Trader at the Inland Revenue. Is there and place in this forum that I can go to for some friendly advice?
I do have what it takes to start a business and I have the adrenaline rush to start like asap. My aim is not to be rich, I only want to support my family and live a normal life.

10th June 2009, 08:07 AM #2 I'm glad you have the dedication to start up on your own but I really wouldn't give up on gaining paid employment just yet. You have only been looking since December, and on your own admission y0ur original CV didn't get you very far, interview-wise. You have done better (especially in this economic climate) since we revised your CV so I think it is worth a bit longer. You could go self-employed anyway and do private work as several people do on this forum, this wouldn't necessarily preclude you getting a job as well.

10th June 2009, 08:51 AM #5 Hello,
although I don't like advocating other forums, google shell livewire, they're very good - gives you info packs, forums for new businesses to discuss and even plug businesses. Apologies if this is not allowed...
Don't forget to get your business on local websites/local papers and WoM is a very, very good way to get business.
Best of luck.

10th June 2009, 10:16 AM #8 If you are starting a new business, there are sometimes additional support/projects that can help you start up. What area in birmingham are you in or more to the point where do you plan to startup? and what you planning to do?

I would start off in the Birmingham area and if successful...the West Midlands area. Services I would provide are:-
Data Recovery
Apple Mac Repairs
Network Configurations
Virus/Spyware Removal
Password Removal
Data Transfer
Remote Help/Telephone Support
Service Contracts
PC/Laptop Repairs
Consultation/Training

10th June 2009, 12:12 PM #10 I've PMed you to find our more. Just a thought but it might be an idea to do this kind of business as an additional source of income while in fulltime employment. I know of someone who does this and does quite well.
