25th May 2011, 12:32 PM #706 Creditor problems? Start with the Citizens Advice Bureau they will be able to do a budget plan for you and then advise on where to go from there. If you need help from an external debt management company they will be able to advise which ones to use.

25th May 2011, 03:26 PM #710 I found that banks are mostly wimps when you threaten them! ie. if you present them with a reasonable repayment proposal, they will mostly agree to it, and if they don't you saying 'well I'll pay you nothing and I'll see you in court' will usually sort it out, as they know a court will 99% of the time agree that your proposal was reasonable and lock you into it.
As others have said though, speak to a help service - there are a few around, and they can be a great help. If you have debt with different creditors, you could go for an IVA, however if you are mostly with one bank etc... then its down to that individual bank usually.

Many Miracles.
So many things have happened to help me keep my job over the last year and a half. First was the tax credits that enabled me to travel to work each Month... And when that expired, thank you to the kind Teacher that was able to give me a lift to work four days a week. Then came the anniversary of my first year of my new employment. I'm part of a really great team.
. I'll never forget that.
My saviour left... But just in the nick of time a most excellent ICT Teacher moved to Stroud and was able to give me a lift to work every day. Things were going great... I've still got a lot of debt, the banks are still gouging me for every penny they can cadge and it's hard to make ends meet every Month, but with a little (lot of) help from my friends, I'm able to manage...
But times are still very difficult and unfortunately my saviours aren't going to be around for much longer... I really wish I had better news, but I'm really pushing the limit for miracles. I've had three already; which is more than I have ever hoped for... I've had a great run...So watch this space.
Will the banks will play nice? Will I find someone to help me get to work every day?
I hope so.
Stay tuned for:
AXE 2... The New Batch.
