Besides, we are itching to see you!
Being unemployed that length of time is like swimming up a waterfall. I feel for you Axe it is a hard place to be. I know I was unemployed for 18 months and d4mn near lost everything I had during that time. Add to the mix bouts of depression which have suffered from on and off all my life.
Found these no idea if you would be interested or if they are even near you but hopefully something will help.

AXE (7th June 2010)

Russ has recommended some places that you can get help for free, and they will be qualified to deal with the way you are feeling, whereas some of us may not.
In addition, there are lots of people here more than willing to listen and talk to you, chin up mate.
That's a great idea![]()
Everyone here says they want to help AXE and tell him about all these crappy schemes etc etc.
What he really needs is a job offer- why has no one does this?
No body has a post available, cant just create jobs out of thin air HillSkill.
If a post was available I'm sure somebody would have spoken up already.

I wish I had a job to offer him - I would

You have read the entire thread, have you? Because if you had you would see that he has had quite a few interviews but his condition holds him back. Anyway, I know several people with good skills who have been unsuccessful in gaining employment in over a year - doesn't meant that you are rubbish. Perhaps you have been lucky?
AXE's CV is quite high level and there are fewer jobs up there anyway and the requirements are far more specific.
Your comments may be how you feel, and you are of course entitled to your opinion but it is unhelpful to say this when AXE is in a very bad place at the moment. Please watch your language as well - two asterisks aren't really enough

all i know is it seems like its all talk and no action on this board!
Everyone says they are so eager to help him but no one actaully does anything.
If Axe does do something unfortuante then his blood is on anyone hands who made these empty promises.

Did the recession skip Northampton?

That is a dreadful thing to say when we have offered as much help as we can - what promises are these then? Please point me to them.
What IS it that we could do other than what we are already doing?
( I have helped him with his CV, others have pointed him towards various help on the internet, and others have kept their eyes out for suitable jobs for him)
If it was that easy, why arent YOU doing something - apart from criticising, of course

HillSkill - you rarely post on this forum, myself this is the first time I have seen you infact, which is probably true for alot of people on here.
As the first post I saw from you was on this thread I would say that you are going the wrong way about becoming a valued member of EduGeek, criticism and negative posting of that variety are helpfull to no one, espcially Axe, surely you should have grasped that if you had read the whole thread, which I doubt you actually have?
I agree that everybody should have their own views and opinions, but sometimes it's best to keep them to yourself!
