Well said - a little compassion and empathy go a long way... you and Axe have my best wishes in your quest to find jobs. Good luck to you both and try to ignore the trolls on here - I remember this site when there used to be none!

I wasn't going to ever post in this thread but here goes...

There are jobs out there. I know it maybe hard to get the 'right' job but surely after so long any job would do. I have a mate, who's own business was struggling, literally had to sell his van all his tools etc. What he did, instead of waiting around, was asking people if they needed any manual work doing like cutting hedges etc. I was shocked at how many people took him up, then word gets around and now he's making enough CASH to see him through these tough times. There are non-IT jobs out there if you are prepared to do them. Times are hard for hell of a lot of people, and I am one of the lucky ones admittedly. But if heaven forbid, things changed, I would be out looking for any job, and I mean any job, every day.

Sorry, I've been very busy lately, my home is being repossessed. I've written a lot of letters to MP's, ombudsmen, etc. trying to get it sorted.

It's not much of a bright side Axe, but the council has a duty of care to ensure you are housed.

There are advantages to council housing: no maintenance costs; no mortgage worries.

Granted it is a huge upheaval, but it could ease some of your problems.

I just hope - if it happens - that you end up in one of the nicer council areas.

Have you considered the Mortgage Rescue Scheme? If not, speak to the local council homeless department, they should get you a priority appointment with the C.A.B. who go through your finances and determine if you qualify for the scheme. If you qualify for the scheme, the C.A.B. also fill in the MRS forms for you.

Which council are you under?! I know from experience that Wolverhampton council for one would make you a priority for housing if you were homeless; single or otherwise.

Problem is, you won't get put in a nice area, at least not to start with. Heath Town anyone?

I do not want to turn this into an arguement, but I think you will find Axe is eligible and the council have a duty of care, in this case Apergers works in his favour.

    Let's agree to disagree though.

    And @Axe

Heh, I'm in Wolverhampton, and as it happens I am speaking from experience.

Heath Town... Lovely area - if you don't mind getting shot at.
