    Oooh, you lucky

A new building, would mean a new network and new equipment and you get to design the network and choose the equipment. The rest of us have to make do with maintaining a network someone else designed 5-10 years ago, and manage our budgets to upgrade IT suites of the same age!

I'm starting my new post on 2nd Nov, looking forward to it. Well done again, hope you enjoy it.

Hiring people is not rocket science. If the role is of such importance surely they can whittle down to a handful [atleast] of very good candidates. At that stage it's stick a pin in the donkey time if a candidate doesn't stand out after the first interview, messing people around is a waste of time - the world keeps turning and there are normally plenty of other job oppoortunities for suitable skilled candidates.....if you don't have the calibre of candidates then you go through this malarkey to make sure you don't make one almighty cockup.

Well we'll just have to agree to differ - i think hiring people is tricky and to call people back for second interviews isn't "messing them around". It's a perfectly legitimate way to do business.
