ICT & Network Support Technician West London (£20-28K)
A friendly and growing ICT support company is currently recruiting for an ICT/Network Technician to assist with support contracts for its educational clients within West London. Must have:
Be well motivated with good inter-personal skills
Have proven experience in ICT support (ideally within Primary Schools).
Fluent with Windows Server 2003 and XP (and possibly Mac experience) Possess a clean driving license and own a car
Preferably reside within West London (hounslow, hammersmith, ealing) or a neighboring area.
They are looking for well motivated, confident individuals with good interpersonal skills who are competent in maintaining and supporting networked IT systems.
Salaries are negotiable (20K – 28K) based on experience and competency.
The educational support Technicians job duties will be as follows:
To implement procedures and provide technical support in line with the school’s ICT support service definition. To work with the school’s leadership team to deliver a safe, effective ICT resource for use by pupils and staff. To develop the school’s ICT resource and ICT support service in line with the school’s educational objectives. To perform advanced diagnostic procedures on PCs, Mac's, peripherals and applications. Advise on compatibility of hardware, applications and operating systems, according to user requirements. Install and maintain standard network cabling; perform basic diagnostic and recovery routines on network equipment; configure network clients with appropriate server information and software. Install software and CDs on the file server; maintain hardware and software of the server; set disk space and printer quotas; create network shares and manage access rights; monitor system logs. Design and implement network infrastructure to meet the school's requirements. Manage active network components including switches, routers and bridges; install additional servers and upgrade the network operating system; set up disk caches and firewalls; maintain Internet filtering systems. Design and apply simple processes to manage configuration and change within the school; implement a structured approach to rolling out new hardware and software. Assess risks and develop recovery procedures for key ICT systems; identify failing systems and suggest solutions. Liaise with senior school staff and negotiate with suppliers and external contractors where necessary.
