Don't even get me started on what a low salary my old Alma Mater is offering!
Won't be getting a box at the Rovers for that sort of dosh!!!

Must be something in the water as the last few techy posts in the North Lancs region seem to have been around that salary
And Stewart, sorry being thick here but what you meaning by my old alba mater? Did you work there or you mean the price there putting on your job?
Ours was advertised at 15-16k but we had fairly minimal requirements.
@ John, I went to St Wilfrids High School Blackburn, I am an ex student, hence Alma Mater.
There isn't much responsibility... just ordering ink and showing people cctv and stuff...
but yes, going from one poor wage to another... it's all about job satisfaction now!
Talking of pay cuts, I was looking at a 5k+ pay cut when I applied for the job I didn't get!
As long as there is enough to get by, it's maybe worth living on the breadline if the role fits your long term goals.
Blackburn is next on the list for BSF in Lancashire is it not? If so, what's the ETA? Might explain the low salary![]()
yeah... september 2009. TUPE will be mentioned in the official advert!
The head wanted the advert to say teaching assistant, but of course that would attract the wrong candidates.
I think Alumni refers to the people who have attended the school/college/uni, where Alma Mater refers to the institution itself. So, I guess, you are an Alumnus of your Alma Mater!

give it a few minutes though... he's just putting it on now :P
Is is reasonable to assume that a new starter would start at the bottom of the band?
not sure. I guess it depends on experience/quals etc.
