A unique opportunity to work as part of a highly motivated team to establish a brand new Academy in the London Borough of Barnet.
Wren Academy is new secondary school opening in September 2008 with a specialism in Design and the Built Environment. Starting with 162 children, the Academy will grow each year to reach its optimum size of 1000 students.
We seek an experienced, skilled and motivated person to be responsible for strategic ICT leadership at the Academy. The successful candidate will oversee ICT systems throughout the school and take a leading role in staff development.

Having read the details for this post, all the design / specification for the academy ICT has already been done.
The system will be based around virtual desktops - "This will allow students more scope for innovation, creativity and curiosity in the ways ICT is used"
Damnit, if only this was 2 years in the future and I was ready to move on... Would have been perfect!
LOL, that is exactly my attitude to practically every interesting job i come across atm. But that salary almost makes me want to take leave of my senses and upsticks....even to barnet.

grr, reminds me of a tech job that I went for. turns out the entire deal was sewn up before I walked in for the interview. The guy who was supporting the school from the LA had engineered the deal, and got the job. What takes the biscuit was that he then asked me for a how_to do his job!. Forget being good at what you do - get some ar*se sucking lessons (your SMT could probably help).
