Default ICT Manager - Northants

No I'm not advertising for my post (well not yet anyway). I'm actually posting on behalf of another school in my area.

Huxlow College is advertising for an ICT Manager, starting salary of £23,749.

While I'm also interested in transfering, I also know that I may not get this job. So I have asked them if I can spread this vacancy around. The only down side is once the ICT manager for this school is in place (if it's not me), I'll be coming round to try to build and develop inter-school IT services relationships

Anyway, for the advert see here. On the Northants county council website, it's Vacancy ID: 3296

I guess they didn't appoint the first time round?

- Not surprising with the job description mind...

I didn't even spot this one ... but the Chair of Governors there has asked to be allowed to join the ICT Support section of enable since he is from a commercial IT background and would like to find out what other schools are doing too.

Does that mean that the Governor will be sticking his/her nose in the IT Dept whenever he feels like it? Or does that mean he's just interested in the differences between "commercial" and "educational" IT support?

Peter is also the Chair of governors for TENC, the VI form consortium between the 4 east Northants schools in that area, and I gather is interested in seeing how things vary from school to school, as well as between education and commercial.

I have been exchanging emails as he was concerned about a few issues (myths) raised about the learning platform and he wanted to speak to the source (Brenda at the LA). As with many of these things he got passed down to me.

I take it you are applying?

Considering anyway. I'm going to look round the school and try to get a feel for the place. If I like it then I'll apply.
