'lo folks,
Looking for a "Tom's Assistant" - widely varied tasks from network admin, to answering network questions posed by our tech team.
Core skills:
* network admin
* Comfortable with windows server environment
* Doesn't hate linux
You will have opportunity to learn:
* VoIP
* SmoothWall
* Network Security principles
* Linux systadmin
* Hacking perl for fun/profit
You may also:
* Get to visit customer sites
* Have input into the product line
* Get to do BETT & Other shows
* Have to do rubbish jobs like cat5 cabling
Decent pay, based in west leeds. Details sketchy at present
This will be a lot like School IT - loads of incredibly varied things to do and not much time to do them!
Get in touch if you are interested. As usual, if we make a successful, agent-free recruitment through EduGeek, we'll donate some (more) money to the coffers.
PS. There are still possible openings in Southampton and Leeds for other kinds of jobs in Development, Support, Sales & Admin, so if you are interested, or know someone who might be, give me a call - cant promise anything immediate, but ist always worth knowing!

19th February 2008, 12:54 PM #5 Ben,
We *used* to be all over the country. "Back in the day" we had people in Coventry, St. Albans, Glasgow, Leeds, Southampton... but we have since rationalised. Our Support Manager did relocate from Denmark, mind.
Go on, you know you want to live in Leeds - its great (if a bit cold!)

19th February 2008, 01:11 PM #9 Pay is dependant on the calibre of the candidate - if it's someone who needs training in almost everything, then it'll be entry-level-tech-ish (15?) going up to whatever we can afford if you're really good

As stated by those who saw us at BETT, you may have to be... a bit odd, and a propensity towards home-made hats is a bonus

19th February 2008, 02:31 PM #15 Sounds like a fun job... though would mean relocating
(or you lot moving to the south!)... and would depend what the salary ceiling was :P
Keeping up with Gavin in the pub is an interesting part of the JD I'd imagine!
