Apply your analytical skills to help launch and run a new data system at a successful Academies Federation.
The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation is a flourishing family of three all through 3-18 academies which serve local communities in South East London: Crayford Academy, Hatcham College and Knights Academy. We are taking a proactive approach to improve our collection and use of management information to support improvement in staff effectiveness and student attendance and behaviour.
We are recruiting a School Data Manager and Performance Analyst (SDMPA) for each academy to focus on this key work programme. It is anticipated that for the first three to six months the base location for all post-holders will be Hatcham College. After that time one will be based in each Academy.
Initially the SDMPAs will spend four days a week working together to develop a new data system, and one day a week working in their assigned Academies. As the new system is established, the amount of time spent working in the Academies will increase to four days per week. This should ensure a consistent approach across the three Academies, with best practice shared between them.
Your role will focus on producing data and reports for: attainment and progress data analysis, behaviour and attendance data analysis, and self-evaluation and staff performance management data analysis. A crucial element of the role is identifying the data requirements of different groups of users (including teachers) and finding the best way to present information to them. You’ll also establish the training needs of users and work to meet those.
· You’ll be a well-qualified graduate with excellent statistical and analytical skills and the ability to work in a team to ensure a consistent approach to your work
· It’s important that you are familiar with the different types of data collected and used in schools (SIMS knowledge is preferred). You need excellent knowledge of software used in analysing and presenting data, particularly Excel and the ability to learn new programmes
· You’ll also be adept at communicating data and analysis to colleagues from non-technical backgrounds – you need a proactive approach to identifying ways to help colleagues make more effective use of data.
