The School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography (SAME) and the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies (SIAS) are looking to recruit an IT Manager in a full time permanent position, based on the Banbury Road, Oxford.

The IT Manager has operational responsibility for the provision of IT for two Schools within the Social Sciences Division. Leading a team of 3 IT staff in providing IT and audio-visual services, the IT Manager is responsible for the development, maintenance and service management of the server, desktop & AV infrastructure. The postholder has full IT budgetary responsibility within the SAME and provides budgetary advice for the SIAS. In addition to proactively developing IT strategy, the IT Manager is also responsible for project managing all IT projects.

Candidates should be educated to degree level or have a relevant professional qualification with suitable experience in a post with similar responsibilities and a service-focused ethos. It is essential that candidates have: experience in managing a team of IT professionals, with demonstrable success in staff leadership and motivation, a record of formulating strategic ICT plans, demonstrable skills with PC and Mac networks and Microsoft server management in an AD environment utilising VMWare, along with excellent communication skills, experience in project lifecycles and experience of service/project management methodologies.
