    @Trapper:

    What is the significance of the Grade 5 in terms of remuneration?

    It has no meaning at all as a grade unless you work for the Birmingham Education Dept.

    Question is, why do they need such a high grade tech if they have CC3 or CC4? Makes no sense at all.

    The whole point of CC3/4 is to require minimal tech support, or maybe that's just it... I've answered my question

    Well it looks like a strategic role more than operational (assume seat at SLT etc.)

    Bit strange though. During my wife's years there (to 2000) it was a Maths teacher who tinkered with tech who was the de facto Network Manager.
