29th June 2011, 10:41 PM #16 Hello everyone,
I'll be attending from Smoothwall and I've managed to snag our Head of Pre-Sale's Rob Faulkner (robef) for the meeting, so have your most technical questions at the ready!
This was just a quick note as I was wondering what attendee's were looking to get out the Smoothwall slot during the meeting.
Myself and Rob were looking to put something together for you tomorrow, so if there is a particular theme to follow, just let me know.
If you can give me an idea of numbers I'll make sure mugs are brought for all.
Cheers,
Sean

As it's your first post on the forum, you may not have been able to send a private message until you've made a public post. I've sent you a PM just now, as this is something we may be interested in for the future, but not for tomorrow. Many thanks.

This will be my first meeting and I suspect the same for others, so I think it's best if we keep it informal for the first one. We could easily extend these out into a more regular thing with talks from comapnies etc in future.
For me I'm really interested in learning more about how other people work and what systems they use. We currently run RM CC3 and the biggest consideration for us at the moment is whether or not we should be looking towards vaniila or CC4.

1st July 2011, 08:51 PM #20 Thanks to everyone who came today. Hope everyone enjoyed it and found it useful. We even managed to promote edugeek to a couple of new potential members!
We'll definitely be doing another meetup / meeting again in October 2011.

1st July 2011, 09:28 PM #22 Yeah, I think so. It's hard to tell whether it was useful for everyone as we've all got different backgrounds, but it seemed to go well.
And we all came away clutching Smoothwall mugs and full of choccies and bics from Impero. So on a totally shallow level I'd say yes as well

Wow, what a brilliant day! The Impero stuff was really impressive and I'm showing a catalogue and singing it's praises round the office. The whole thing went really well and I thoguht the informal approach was a great way of getting to meet folk, chat and learn how other schools do things. A big thanks to kaphc and the school for hosting it all.
