If you didn't get the message, embc is holding an 'Engagement day' on 14th June at Walkers Stadium, Leicester where you can meet the bidders, listen to their initial proposals and provide feedback.
email embc@embc.org.uk to register interest.
In another piece of news, after the latest round of talks, one of the suppliers, Logicalis, decided to withdraw, leaving 5 bidders.

Any spares I had have already been handed out to Northants folk ... but I can ask the EduGod if he might have any left over after the conference I could bring back ... if you are not going to the conference, that is.

Thanks.

7th June 2011, 01:09 PM #9 A quick bump on this. It would be good to see more schools there, actively involved in pointing out their needs and chatting with the bidders. I know a number of folk just see this as another attempt at tie-in, but it truly is about trying to make sure that whatever happens, the final provider has the offering you need / want, at an affordable price ... giving you the option to take it if you want it. (YMMV amongst LAs / RBCs / commercial providers!)

7th June 2011, 10:20 PM #10 I'll chip in if Tony doesn't mind and say take him up on this simply because it does work these things!! The IT Managers in my LA have been involved in the new ISP setup at our LA and we are now getting what we want to support our schools better, simply put if you don't chip in you should have a limited right to complain afterwards you have been given the chance to make your voice heard so please take it otherwise people will not bother giving you the chance again to do so.

I can recommend the Hardy & Hanson's pub next to Morrisons and the chip shop on Aylestone Road is also quite good I think - a lot of Tigers fans, players and staff go there and I can't imagine Richard Cockerill eating iffy fish & chips!
