Daft question which our 'Dook will probably know the answer to
What is the link/deal with EMBC/Synetrix. I'm seeing the latter in nearly all communications, support, websites etc more than I am EMBC - however I was under the impression that it's just a service that EMBC use or similar.
Could I therefore be nosey enough to ask wha the link is, who deals with what? I.E. which is the ISP, which merely provides services etc?

5th November 2009, 05:57 PM #2 EMBC contract Synetrix (previously Fujitsu) to provide the services.
EDIT:
EMBC are the representative body of the (insert number of Local Authorities) local authorities to procure cost effective / economies of scale etc services.

Just confused me seeing things previously labelled EMBC now being marked up Synetrix, and vice versa
Cheers fella.

5th November 2009, 07:15 PM #4 Then chuck in LP+ who are contracted to provide some services for Northamptonshire alone which does account for some of the duplication etc.
The idea of LP+ originally was because EMBC/Synetrix weren't going to be ready in time with the requirements etc for just Northamptonshire.
Now though you have two companies one acting directly for Northants, the other for the greater community so you get a varied and useful service.
It's going to be interesting in times ahead with both players batting on the same side now too it's nice and another good reason for Shep to be at County. (Chief Mediator Bowser)

5th November 2009, 10:40 PM #5 Kim has it pretty spot on ... and yes, many LAs already have their own options for various services and Northants is no exception ... and this is before we consider what schools are doing themselves too. Still ... choice ... that is what we keep on about

6th November 2009, 07:12 AM #6 It's no bad thing. Must admit, there's still a lot of confusion surrounding LP+ in a couple of schools however I've been suggesting they get hold of folks there for on site training, which I can only say has been a huge success. I love progress and seeing once confused people now teaching me things
Very grateful the support we have here in Northants is spot on, it certainly makes my life easier to know who to speak to
