Hi Guys/Gals,
Just got an e-mail from the NCC about applying to become a "Harnessing Technology Technical Champion". Sounds very interesting... Was wondering if anyone else was considering going for it, imo it's a very good stepping stone for the next level in our career (for example the "...to provide guidance for..." sounds like basic consultancy) as well as a big benefit for the school(s) you support.
But of course the less people apply the greater the chances of me being accepted

Hi Ken
Just spotted this (and had a few prods via email for more info)
Yes, Northants is in the pilot wave for the next generation of FITS and we are looking for 5 IT Managers to fund through training, support them during implementation of FITS and they will form a core of a stakeholder group to represent IT Support staff in schools.
If you are interest in applying then drop me an email to tsheppard@northamptonshire.gov.uk ... the cut off is this Friday though so the quicker you get back to me the better.

@GrumbleDook:
If only our LA was this forward thinking, I advised our LA at least 3 years ago about the self same thing Tony, did they listen............................................ .............![]()

Actually ... the idea for a chunk of this has been poached from a variety of other LAs as well as feedback from folk here. Nothing new, nothing overly special ... just taking an opportunity to join a few things together.
Anything that is developed by this group will by released under CC and available to all.
So has anyone applied?

I can't find Head who will support my application ;-)
Just to confirm that applications have been extended until close of play on Wednesday 11th as some SLTs are struggling to send supporting emails.

It has been an interesting week but we have now selected our champions, sent out an initial email to them and a formal letter will go out on Monday to their respective headteachers. When that is out I will stick up the results on here with a little surprise for them too.
