Making Thinkuknow training more accessible
To make our resources and training more accessible we are making some important changes to improve the way we deliver Thinkuknow training. Previously, trainers had to attend the half-day Thinkuknow training before they could attend the full Ambassador training. We are now removing this requirement, meaning that users do not have to attend the half-day Thinkuknow event to attend an Ambassador event.

You must still attend a half day Thinkuknow course to get access to our resources for 11-16’s. However, if you attend an Ambassadors session you will get access to our resources for 11-16’s and the Ambassadors’ training resources which enable you to train your colleagues.

Dates for Thinkuknow and Ambassadors courses
Here are the dates and locations of our Thinkuknow and Ambassador training for the next academic year. Remember, the Thinkuknow course is a basic awareness session which takes an afternoon. The Ambassador course is a full day’s course providing an in depth look at children online, the risks and dangers they can face and how you and your organisation can respond to them. £199 for CEOP Ambassador Thinkuknow - training

I was astonished that my school paid for mine. It was in half term and told them I was going on it whether or not they paid... and they did!

It's a real shame as I would love to do the training

The current change is at least a step in the right direction. On my Ambassador course there were several people doing their second day in London because they'd done the ThinkUKnow course the day before... it makes it very expensive and CEOP have now removed that barrier.

There's no chance of persuading your two schools each to contribute 50% is there?

We can do the ThinkUKnow training, but not the Ambassador training. @russdev was talking about doing something along those lines a few months back

Thats what I meant, surely just covering the thinkuknow stuff would be a good start for everyone

Perhaps @ZeroHour or @Dos_Box could give an insight as to whether its possible in the future, whilst it may make the conf last longer, it would be good to those who do not have any CEOP training and can take notes back to their employers and say "This is what I learnt, you should send me on the ambassador course so I can train the staff"?

Would be good but one of them has a Pastoral TA who has the job of esafety so it isnt considered to be my job.

Ah, but they could train you for half the cost as an Ambassador and then you could train her in ThinkUKnow!

you get them to have a whip round...and by that I mean you roundly whip them until they give you the funding to go.
