I would suggest Notepad++

their program is brilliant - love it for everything, especially programming as it has loads of different language syntax checking.

I already use Notepad++ [and like it loads] however Text Master has one or two little features that Notepad++ does not [eg: delete blank lines, sort text and upper-case/lower-case change]

If there is a job that does not require a feature enabled in Notepad++ then perhaps Text Master might be an alternative.
