    Piriform Speccy

Those lovely people at Piriform (CCleaner, Recuva and Defraggler) have come up with another winner and, IMHO, an essential app in Speccy, an advanced system information tool. It even tells you your OS serial number

Came across this myself and was able to get info on memory installed which I needed. Nice quick and handy info.

Pretty good I must admit - although I was getting access denied trying to get the graphics card info whilst at work - not sure what was causing that ( GPO ) or something ??

Although I quite like SIW, Everest by lavalys however I am disappointed by SIW as I downloaded the free one ( yeah right ) and it keeps prompting for purchasing it or entering a serial number - so how is that free then ??

Although I really like Speccy, it isn't of much use on a system that has drivers missing because it doesn't include its own hardware database (unlike AIDA64 née EVEREST).

If you like Speccy, you may find the following programs useful too...

    CPU-Z for CPU/RAM.
GPU-Z for very detailed info on your graphics card.
Open Hardware Monitor for monitoring CPU/GPU/HDD temps and fan speeds.
