This piece of scripting software is great for forcing PC's into doing something that is acheivalbe through regedit.
I've had this for ages since the school network was totally re-done but never really looked into it.
Its great for setting the same IE homepage across all the PC's across the Network.
I used it recently to force all the PC's to have the same date format for some new software we were using. As the PC's are logged on the date format is changed, and if anyone changes it the next log on puts it back.
Loads more can be done using it not just registry changes.
Check it out...... and best of all its FREE.

Good init.
I only use it for printer mapping in XP.
Regarding IE homepage and so on, don't you use GP (Group Policy)? It really is awesome at locking down stuff
I wanna look at kixtart a bit more tho - as your date format example shows.
Regards,
Nath.

Does this have any advantage over using VB Script?

You can get the likes of WSH on windows 98 but when I ask these questions I dont usually even consider the likes of 9x

My Group Policies never seem to work. I've given up on them for the moment. Probably me missing a tick box or something stupid. Is there a simple GP I can try to see if they are working or not? I even went out and purchased a book on itl. 8O
I messed around with them when the new 2003 servers were installed (Bored during the Summer Holidays), but got nothing then.
Does WinSuite mess them up?

Like: User Config > Windows Settings >Internet Explorerer Maintenance > URLs > Important URLs > [Set a new homepage] you mean?
[Make a test OU > add test user in that OU > add a new policy to the OU > edit > test]
