22nd May 2010, 10:15 PM #1 Another Drawing Package: FlowPaint
Flowpaint is a next generation paint program that focuses on usability and power. It's open source, cross platform, and supports pressure sensitive graphics tablets.

Flowpaint will freeze up for a long time (several minutes) if its window is resized after many pen strokes have been drawn (it will re-render each pen stroke). Undo history may also be lost after a resize. The workaround is to resize the window to the desired size before starting to draw. This issue will be fixed in a future version.
The package [in Windows] is portable [download the zipped file, extract to your chosen location and run the EXE from there]
The current version is a beta release.

Flowpaint 0.2 requires Java version 6 or newer.

23rd May 2010, 11:41 AM #3 I find children are far more creative if you stick some A4 and some crayons / coloured pencils etc in front of them. I seriously think all these paint programs etc take away some of the creative aspect in them which is quite sad.
They do have their place, but not for youngsters. [ In my opinion ]
