PDF Speedup: Speed up Acrobat Reader

PDF Speedup is a completely free software to speedup your Adobe Reader. It works by disabling the unnecessary plugins of your Adobe Reader. Apart from that, it can also disable update checking and splash screen of Adobe Reader. ...

...PDF Speedup can disable those too, so that you can update Adobe Reader only when you want to. This also speeds up your Adobe Reader.

By disabling the plugins, and loading only the ones that are absolutely necessary, PDF Speedup considerably reduces the startup time of Adobe Reader. This works in like same way as you can speedup your computer by cleaning your registry. PDF Speedup can also disable splash screen of Adobe Reader, and also turn off the ads that come in top right side of Adobe Reader.

PDF Speedup is a very easy way to speedup your Adobe Reader. It is a completely free software.
    Features:

    Free PDF Tweak Utility for Adobe Acrobat 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, Adobe Reader 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
Enable or disable the plug-ins as needed
    Turn off all Updates features
Disable the splash screen during program startup
Remove the My eBooks folder created in My Documents
Turn off the advertisements for Adobe products in the upper-right corner of the toolbar
Remove PrintMe and Adobe Reader icons
    Disable Browser Integration
Disable confirmation dialog when closing Adobe Reader
Better speed for LAN and Cable connection
Clear Adobe Reader Recent Files History
Restore to original settings at any time

Where's the button to uninstall Adobe Reader?

Although v9.0 is pretty fast already, dealing with the constant security vulnerabilities is a pain. I wonder how many home users are using an old version of Adobe Reader and don't even know they have trojan's/rootkits like Alureon/H8SRT on their computers?

I think I'm going to be doing that anyway - our install of Adobe Acrobat CS3 interferes with the browser plugin for Adobe Reader, so now you can't view PDF documents inside a web browser. Hopefully using a different PDF viewer will fix thisproblem, or does anyone know if the utility above will sort out that issue too?

You realise you can do most of that using a transform file? There's also the adobe customization tool if you're not familiar with orca.
