Slight side track, but I use mrbs (Meeting room booking system), check sourceforge. Works well, good community support base, authenticates off the AD (though a pain to setup as most php<->AD things are)
Yeah, we tried mrbs but the staff just couldnt get to grips with it. Our staff are not the most proficient in the use of anything PC related, it really needs to be a booking system with an absolute minimum of options and fields to fill in. Webmans looks perfect for us from what I can see of the screenshots

This has a lot of bug fixes over earlier versions.

Hehe..to give you some idea of the standard of ours, one this morning couldnt get his pc working (was because he hadnt switched it on), another couldnt get anything to display on his whiteboard via the projector (hadnt pressed source on the projector for pc), and another had "printer problems in the class" (was because it had run out of paper)
Once when I was working for Royal Mail IT I had to drive 3 1/2 hours to a director who could not get his PC to work. When I got there I switched on the plug socket switch and hey presto one very embarrassed director
At the moment, all I can say is the online service will be ready before the download version. Once I have the core featureset done, I'll open it as Beta and will accept singups. Any bugs will (hopefully) be sorted out during this time and will then be available for download.
I hope to finish it in 2-3 weeks but it depends on how busy I get at work

I have just finished the booking system at our School. The timetable is hard coded at the moment, but I am in the process of moving it over to the SQLserver database.
If anyone is instrested I have attached a screenshot.

It needs a bit of tidying up - and documentation needs to be created fully - i.e guide on how to use the Nova-T/Sims import bit.
But as soon as it is finished I will upload all for you guys to see/use.
Has anyone tried to get a username/password for the SQL server for the SIMS database? I assume they will tell us to bugger off but would be handy to automate the import function so that the timetables/room info is up to date at all times.
They will never tell anyone who wants to tie into SIMS to bugger off ... however, they will say cough up some cash.

I think if you approach Capita they can give you a DLL or ActiveX thingy which will allow read only access to the database.
Phil Neal who's the Capita director that looks after SIMS is now a member of EduGeek so perhaps he might be able to give further details.
There is a free API around, a Capita support person mentioned it in response to a support query aboutlinking to the database. It does appear to be tricky to get hold of as you have to make sure you get the right person to ask and give the right response as to why you want it. I am still trying to get it from our LEA support but this mainly becuase the person who has it is in the office about once a week and random times when he is. (though I'm sure that isn't dilerberate)
