    Hi Dan,

The LDAP setup should be fairly straight forward but make sure you set the connection authentication to 'Simple' and enter the account details of an account in AD for authenticating like the following:

    Connection Account: accountid@yourdomain
    Connection Account Password: password_for_admin_account

You don't need to fill out Group DN or Search filter unless you want to, as long as the base DN is ok WHD will pull in all Clients found beneath the OU in the Base DN.

If you require any help with this, please feel free to email our support: support@unipress.co.uk

    Thanks,

    WHD_Guy

Thought about taking it off-line and sparing the rest but they might find this interesting and useful for their own config.

    According to Tech Support:

This looks like AD (Dan, can you confirm / deny?)

Probably they need to not just put the domain in the Base DN, but include a sub container where the users are stored
    ie. (cn=Users, dc=mydomain, dc=com)
    instead of just dc=mydomain,dc=com
ignore the () in the first example

They need to check their AD tree and see where the users actually are also

Lightbulb Multiple LDAP and AD Syncs in Help Desk Software

    Chris,

You may add as many AD or LDAP syncs as you need, each with separate configuration and scheduled sync times.

LDAP and AD Configuration details may be found in the Web Help Desk Software - Administrator's Guide.

    Enjoy,
    WHD

    Hi Chris,

There should be no problem having 3 domains as far as I'm aware. As long as WHD is installed on a server that users from all 3 domains can access via the web then it should be fine.

As for AD client synching, Web Help Desk has the ability to create multiple LDAP connections. So you just need to create 3 connections for your 3 domains.

Let us know if you need any help setting this up - support{at}unipress.co.uk.

    Thanks,

    WHD_Guy

Question Another help desk software thread...over there ->

    Team,

I invite you to share your Web Help Desk experiences with a 'boomam' over on a different help desk software thread here on EduGeek:

Good, bad, or indifferent; I'm sure 'boomam' would appreciate your unbiased opinions of the Web Help Desk Software.

    Thanks in advance,

    Lightbulb Help Desk Software Reporting

Dan, configuring auto-scheduled delivery of any Web Help Desk Software report couldn't be easier.

You may create virtually any report needed in the Reports module, run them on demand, send them to PDF, or simply schedule the report to be automatically sent to the audience of your choice in PDF format via email.

Get more general information on help desk software reporting in Web Help Desk or feel free to contact your local rep or the support team for more details or a web-based walkthrough.

There is a section on configuring and auto delivering reports in the Web Help Desk Software Configuration Guide (13.4MB).
