How often are the CCNA Exams?

Hi - (I have asked this question in other threads today so apologies if you are reading this again)

How often are the CCNA exams? I left aged 18 and am thinking of getting into ICT career - but before i start calling schools - can someone advise me how often the CCNA exams are? Are they whenever you want to do them?

    Thanks!!! Lister

You can take the CCNA whenever you want. You need to find a local testing centre that will take you, pay the fee and turn up. There are lists of testing centres on the CISCO website.

Just finished the course at college. Not done the exam yet; task for the summer when I have some time.

If you follow the proper CISCO approved course you can do a short on-line exam the end which entitles you to a voucher which gets you a discount on the main exam fee.

Don't know what the fees are at the moment, and they may be cheaper if you are enrolled on an approved college course; there are discounts and such available.

The price of an exam seems to be around £130 atm. They do them weekly at one our my local colleges.

Be wary of getting a CCNA with no experience. Many firms are wary hiring 'paper' CCNA's. I would suggest trying to get experience somewhere and doing the network+ first as it is not so focused on CISCO kit.

Are you sure you want to focus on configuring network devices such as switches, routers etc or are you wanting to work with client/server type things eg systems roles etc?
