It's an RSS feed from Microsoft Education blog?
I'd ask why not, rather than why? Where is the Google Schools blog? I just tried searching for it and can't find it?
This is the default apps update page: Google Apps update alerts
This is the Apps for ED page: Google Apps update alerts: Education Edition
I did have a feed for another Google apps page that was more like the MS Feed with info on schools that had signed up and general chat/info but cant find it at the moment.
Why does it matter, really? Are you saying you find it unsuitable?
Always glad of feedback but I will be honest and say those links would be more comparable to say a feed of Live@edu news rather then the much broader topics the MS Schools Blog can provide.
Looking at the odd example there its more things like new themes/features for apps which although useful would only really be useful to those using that platform. The same could be said of a live@edu feed too where its too narrow for frontpage use (although we could import the feed as posts which I will look into)
We did have an advertising deal with Microsoft which is part of the reason that block is there but I think personally its a very useful blog to keep track of and has lots of information useful for most schools now rather then specific areas which you have linked.
If you can track down the feed you mentioned I would be happy to review that as an option but I think the *apps* feeds probably dont have a huge relevance for most unlike the MS Edublog although I will look for a way to import that feed but not as a frontpage block. If it was imported it would appear in recent threads at least.
I hope you see my perspective.
Hmm they must have taken down the site I found before or Google search is not finding it.
Anyway this is similar but a bit too US although some UK info.
