Not wishing to be an old boring fart or ought but there's starting to be a number of animated signatures appearing that are constantly dragging my attention away from the posts I'm trying to read.
Is there a ruling on this, ask people to change them nicely, or find some way to block it out of our conscious?

I will agree on that, they just plain irritate me...

If you're using Firefox just use the Adblock extension and block them... or just right-click and 'Block all images from hostname.website...'

Just discovered that and popped it into action so I guess that's one way to solve the problem.

I also find some of the posts on this forum most annoying.. can we block those too? I'm not sensible enough to selectively ignore stuff, you see...

Can't say I've ever been bothered by them.

I think these sigs are the internet equivalent of the rear end of a car:
Internet - car rear
No sig - de-badged
Basic sig - standard model info
Humorous sig - comedy bumper sticker
Quirky quote - custom number plate
Flashy graphics - boy racer big exhaust and spoiler
And tbh I view them with the same attitude - must be compensating for something!

Large sigs are what I detest!
If people are not sensible about what goes into their sigs, they will be removed by a site admin. If people continue to complain about sigs, we may have to review the policy allowing graphical sigs. EduGeek does not want to do this but we will be holding discussions about this.
