Is there a time limit on editing posts?

I would like to update the 1st post of a development thread but don't seem to be able to edit it anymore.

Yep the limit is 3 hours. Sadly there is no easy way to override this setting.

Is it not possible to set it to 0?

Time Limit on Editing of Posts
Time limit (in minutes) to impose on editing of messages. After this time limit only moderators will be able edit or delete the message. 1 day is 1440 minutes.

Set the value to 0 to allow users to edit their posts indefinitely. (Source)

My response was more on a per forum/per thread basis. That setting is global sadly and we had to restrict edits due to mass removal of posts in the past.

Just to comment, its reaaaaaallly really annoying for anyone who wants to keep the 1st post of a thread updated.

Can it not be set differently for web development forum?
