    Can we lose the "this is a live topic/discussion notification"?

    Or implement the functionality without it blurring posts, because a) I really don't care whether it's live or not and b) it's annoying c) makes the thread harder to read in Firefox without a refresh.

    Yes, it is annoying. I typically read the "new posts" page and open background tabs for any threads which interest me, then work through them reading them. This can mean that I don't get to a thread for a little while, by which time it has hidden the first post.
