Which direction is EduGeek going?
I have just opened the edugeek front page and looked at the Most Recent Threads section.
It indicates that the most recent threads are in the following forums.
3 X General Chat (Dog training, Apple innovations, New Bikes)
2 X Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall (You Tube in schools, What filtering do you use)
1 x Gaming
1 X Other Stuff (I have a free Iphone)
1 x Advertisers (wanted bits for a MacBook)
Is this indicative of the way Edugeek is now ... Not so much of a tecnical help place but more as a place for general chat?

I get this list...
HP LaserJet P2055DN's going...
Mitsubishi SL6SU projector...
script for joining wireless...
So the iPad...
Recommended eSATA HDD for...
Windows 7 and Steam Login
Zimbra Email BGFL?
Still quite a few technical posts.

Thread really not needed. We've had enough shouting and arguing between everyone, emotions are running high.
Edugeek is going to always be Edugeek, the mix of technical and everything else. Just because nothing technical is being shown isn't indicative that the website isn't being technical.
Perhaps we're all super techs and have no problems to report back!

I am not trying to stir things up which is why I have posted in the edugeek comments and suggestions forum.
It just did not feel like a place for technical help when I opened the site this morning.
MODS, I am sorry if this thread is perceived as stirring, please feel free to remove it if you think it necessary.

Hmm thats just a snapshot though, if you looked at all of say todays posts and saw nothing technical maybe its more of a point but even then its up to you the members to post things more technical. TBH we want to be relevant in schools as well and filtering is techinical etc. Its not like the all the technical forums are not posted on...
Should we remove the general chat and make it completly techy then?
I cant see how that would ever be a good thing tbh and yeh we are still techical (I have not told anyone to stop posting things like that anyway) but its possibly just a slow technical post day.
If you dont want to read general chat I can look at ways for you to filter it out but I think we both know that would be stupid.

Exactly what I was thinking, give people chance to get their tech-heads on
