13th November 2009, 01:13 PM #1 Thanks feature
Currently the thanks notification on the bottom of a post shows this
The Following User Says Thank You to TheLibrarian For This Useful Post:
This takes up 4 lines on my display

If you reduced this message to
Then it would only take up 1 line and make threads much easier to read. Also the "remove thanks" feature is pretty useless and just taking up more space imo.

13th November 2009, 02:16 PM #2 Hi
I will reduce the thanks text, cheers for the tip.
The remove thanks button is used tbh but I will see if I can reduce it as well. I have used the remove a few time myself when hitting thanks by mistake when trying to hit reply.
Cheers

Losing all the stuff at the left hand side and leaving just the username would make much, much more difference but I'd guess some people like all that :-)

13th November 2009, 04:23 PM #7 could we have a mobile/netbook suitable site which does cut out aload of od the stuff on hte left for quicker access and more suitability on small devices?

13th November 2009, 04:31 PM #8 Still takes up 2 lines on some longer usernames. Do we really need to say the username if its below a post?

I don't see any reason to quote the username in the first place if its attached to a post.

13th November 2009, 04:38 PM #11 Hey ... let's ditch this forum stuff and get back into usenet ... I miss uk.education.schools-it
Actually, the shortening is a tad more readable so thanks for the suggestion. Happy with the other stuff though.

13th November 2009, 04:39 PM #12 Could we please have it in Rotokas as this has only 12 letters in it's alphabet thus would take less room.

I'm old - I remember the good old days of usenet and plain text where content mattered more than the pretty colours :-)
Not sure that a 12 letter alphabet would help - don't you need more letters then to get the info across???

Same here but it's Friday and as you can tell by some of my posts today I have been in a playful mood so no disrespect to anyone as you are all diverse characters on here and I feel like I know you all personally that's how good this site is.
Have a great weekend srochford you deserve it and so do all the rest of you.

Now if we could just persuade people to get down to a sensible length signature... 4 lines like Usenet?
