    FYI -I managed to get rid of 33 300, 400 and 500MHz machines on freecycle - only had to wipe them - AND I got rid of 7 broken machines to a teacher who teaches children to build stuff!
    Cost to the school - NOTHING!!
    Thanks obtained by me - NIL

    Bitter, moi?

    @Daveyboy

    Yep - got a Dell Powerapp Web 100 rack mount server - not sure of specs but PIII 700 ish. All yours if you fancy a trip to sunny Bournemouth!

    @Witch

    We have some 10/100 4 and 8 ports if you want one... either Netgear or Linksys I think...

    This certainly looks useful! I agree with the comment about primary schools. We could certainly make use of a lot of stuff secondary schools throw out (which is an awful shame really, I think we should be more closely linked with the local secondary schools).

    We have a bunch of 300MHz and 600MHz Tiny computers stacked up at the back of the ICT Suite waiting for me to decide exactly what to do with them. I'm doubting anyone on here wants them though and I don't even think ICT Direct would take them as a donation they are that old.

    Like the idea. Going to have at least 13 RM CY25 laptops (P4 / 512 / 40GB / XP ) to dispose of soon. Offers on a postcard

    Sounds like a great idea, always amazes me how much "spare" stuff builds up over the years.

    Would like to swap : Bar to Bar cagefloor carpet, lightly soiled
    For : MP3 collection of techbabes talking about networks and pc's, husky voice would be a bonus but not a requirement

    mm...trouble is, do they actually know what to do with those pieces of hardware, or are they merely babes for show rather than techbabes.

    Nevertheless..let me amend my swap offer...
