There is another site technet.org.uk
This is is not be confused with technet.com which is Microsoft site for IT Pros
The strange thing is that the forum server has a sch.uk domain.
I wonder if the school knows about it, especailly the jokes forum.

The more the merrier is the ethos as far as I am concerned ... as long as most lists, newsgroups and forums continue sharing members (you can't read them all) we will continue sharing good practice.
Off to registern now ... and I promise not to hog it like I did with icttechnician.com.

I put all sorts of junk on our web server. Granted I've never gone as far as an entire forum. It's usually just mirroring files.

The technet.org.uk site is questioning whether to close down or not !!

I agree that the more sites the better in some respects, if it increases coverage.
But equally, having to search through several forums for answers is time consuming.
On a similar note, is the lancs forum still active ?, or has everyone moved over here ?

The topic subject of "Another rival" doesn't really lend itself to the suggestion of peace, harmony, and goodwill to other ICT Tech forums !

The Lancs forum is still useful for discussing Lancs specific issues. For general queries, it's probably better to post here. You'll get more answers quicker.

One of the less reported news stories after Cherie B's indescretion was a that a certain stocky figure was forceably ejected from the foyer of the hall where G. Brown was speaking. It is not known whether he got the flyers back.

You need to wash things befre ironing ... but remember to iron whist still slightly damp ... and it was not a wide-eyed newbie act ... it was my "cool ... I'll have a look around" message ...
Since I wasn't spammed by the admin or anything like that I prefer to go in, read the threads, and just loiter.
And as for taking over the world ... I am just trying to work out who is Pinky and who is The Brain between me and Russ.

Did you know that the guy who voiced Brain is the same guy who voiced Kif, Calculon and Morbo in Futurama?
This post was brought to you by alcohol and a profound desire to stop yet another thread veering onto the subject of ironing. Hurray!

Thank you ... that has saved me going into a long discussion about mistaken origins and so on ... just like my surname really.
Just because it is Sheppard it does not mean that it has anything to do with sheep ... it is actually derived from the word 'shipyard' ... from when the common labourer wanted to be know as something a little more than a labourer ... people who made ships called have a surname like Wright (shipwright) or smith (ship's smith) ... but to say you are Tony from the shipyards could be ambiguous ... and make people be a bit more self important.
I'd like to point out that this is not the case with me, but is due to some idiotic army clerk writing things down wrong with my great, great grandfather (who was born Shepherd) and the family spent a few generations swapping back and forth.
All goes to show ... don't believe what you think a name means. Take EduGeek ... you would think we were a bunch of geeks that work in education.
erm
I'll get me coat.
